It has been way to long since I last updated my blog...where to start???
Holidays:
All went well for Thanksgiving. We were suppose to travel to Cali and visit family but I had pneumonia so we just stayed in AZ and had a small family thing here. To start the Christmas season we did the Polar Express event in Williams, AZ. The kids loved it!!! We arrived late Sunday evening, had dinner at the restaurant infront of the train station, boarded a train for a journey to the North Pole, met Santa, drank hot cocoa and ate cookies on the ride back to the station, and stayed the night at the hotel. I would definitely recommend this event!!!
At the beginning of December Raigan had her dance recital with Club Dance and she was dressed as a candy cane. She did a great job and continues to love her class. Christmas was fabulous. I hosted a Desert Social for my neighbors as well. We have had some changes with families in the past year (old neighbors moving, and new families moving in). So I baked for 3 days and served a ton of homemade cookies (thanks to Nathans grandmothers fab recipes). I posted a pic of the table below showing the various cookies created :-) I thought this would be a great way to introduce ourselves to the new neighbors while enjoying some Christmas treats. Nathans mom and grandfather came to visit the week before Christmas and we all went to see a holiday play. Christmas Eve Nathans sister surprised the kids with a quick visit. The kids were thrilled to see her...we must plan a trip to Atlanta ASAP! They get confused and think she lives in Oklahoma because she is there visiting every time we are visiting the area.
2010:
So far the kids have started soccer (for Raigan), and flag football (for Cohen). Nathan is coaching both teams and is doing a great job. Raigan struggled her first game, and wasn't thrilled about getting out on the field. This followed a practice where one of the players tackled her to get the ball..oopps! She was done after that! It doesn't help that she is the only girl on the team so my motivational strategy is to pump her with "girl power" chats! Cohen's football team has players ranging from 5 years old to 8 years old. We thought it was going to be a major problem but it has infact made him more competitive and aggressive in this sport...which he needed. The team is actually working out great and the boys are having so much fun learning and improving their skills. I will post pics of both kids playing in their next game.
Here are a few pics of a few things we have done over the past few months...
